Stewardship Development, East 43rd Street LLC, Key Bank, Harris County Housing & Community Development, Harris County Housing Finance Corporation, NEF, Otak, and Pavilion Construction celebrated the groundbreaking of the affordable housing complex Saddle Creek Village on November 12, 2024.
Located at 150960 Kuykendahl Road, Saddle Creek Village will offer 72 units of 100% affordable housing. The property will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, all reserved for households at 60% of area median income. The project aims to provide much-needed affordable housing for local individuals and families, with apartments expected to be available in November 2025.
This development was made possible through the allocation of LIHTC 9% housing tax credits and funding from Harris County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
Strategically located near employment centers, transportation, schools, and a grocery store, Saddle Creek Village will offer a range of community amenities. These include ample outdoor spaces such as a playground, large and small dog parks, a furnished resident and business center, a clubhouse with high-speed internet, an after-school learning center with tutoring, and a bike room. Inside, the apartments will be equipped with energy-efficient appliances, granite countertops, and balconies.
The property will be fully accessible, with designated mobility and hearing/vision accessible units, four elevators, and secure, fenced entry.
Construction financing is provided by Key Bank with permanent financing by Walker & Dunlop. Tax credits are awarded by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and tax credit equity is provided by NEF.
