Through innovative partnerships with organizations like the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) and our subsidiary corporation, the Harris County Community Land Trust (CLT), HFC is helping to reduce barriers to homeownership for working families, especially those earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). In fact, the total amount of business HFC has done with TDHCA is up to $284 million, equating to 541 homes averaging a $230,000 loan amount. We are proud that roughly 70% of these are minority households we have been able to help.
These collaborations expand access to down payment assistance programs, preserve affordability for future generations through land trust models, and ensure that homeownership remains an attainable goal — not just for today’s families, but for tomorrow’s as well.
This month and every month, we are proud to support pathways to affordable homeownership that empower Harris County residents to put down roots and build brighter futures.
